THE IMMEDIATE AREA
You could not be in a better, more central and convenient location to hit up some of Paso's most prestigious wineries on the famed Westside. You are just 3 minutes to downtown Templeton, 5 minutes to downtown Paso and 30 minutes to other Central Coast destinations: Cambria, Pismo Beach, and downtown San Luis Obispo. There is easy access to 101, which makes your day trips a breeze.
Trader Joe's is a mile and a half away along with J & R Meats which offers local grass-fed beefs and other meats. In the same shopping plaza is Pier 46, the area's top fish market and restaurant. In downtown Templeton you'll find Nature's Touch Nursery & Harvest, a fully-organic grocery store with provisions from local farmers. Larger grocery stores include Albertson's and Food For Less, both about 7 miles in either direction off the 101.
For a small town, Templeton provides lots of eating out options. McPhee's is top on the list and perfect for that special occasion. Ian (McPhee) cooks up fantastic farm-to-table fare. Other local flavor includes AJ Spurs (Western flavor) and Nino's (wood-fired cooked burgers, salads and lots of TVs for viewing sports). Enjoy a glass of wine and an appetizer or cheese platter at 15 Degrees Wine Bar before or after dinner. To start your day, you can't go wrong with Joe's for an All-American breakfast or The Kitchenette for a bit more gourmet breakfast or lunch delicacies.
After you've exhausted the Templeton restaurants, the Paso restaurants are also outstanding. What's your pleasure: Italian, Irish, French, Mexican, Asian, Argentinean, Organic or Seafood? Paso has them all and more. There's even a new Speakeasy in town, called Eleven Twenty-Two. You're in wine and foodie heaven.
You truly don't even need to leave the home with all the activities you can do there. But, there is so much to do and explore on the Central Coast. Of course there is wine tasting and wine events. But once the taste buds need a break, there are so many other activities near by. Golf anyone? Paso Robles Golf Course is a great course for the novice. The more serious golfer might try Hunter Ranch. There are dozen other courses around the area as well. While the guys are golfing there are plenty of spas for the ladies for a day of beauty treatments. Take in a concert at the Vina Robles Amphitheater. There is not a bad seat in the gorgeous 2500 seat music venue. For the more adventurous types, there are plenty of hiking trails and a zip line to amp up the adrenaline. If boating is your choice of relaxation...the Lake Nacimiento boat launch is just 35 minutes away.
Venture out to the local towns. Go antiquing in Cambria. Visit the Elephant Seals and Hearst Castle in San Simeon. Collect shells on Moonstone Beach. Drive an ATV on the beach at the Oceano Dunes. Check out the fantastic Farmers' Markets - Saturdays in downtown Templeton and Thursday nights in San Luis Obispo. Days of endless fun awaits you on the Central Coast.
Let the fun times begin! 5000 sf of luxury accommodations, comfortable sleeping arrangements, a gourmet kitchen, a family room with a giant screen TV, a living room with cozy fireplace, a 1500 sf game room, a kids' playground, a pool, and an outdoor kitchen, all in one fabulous Vacation Rental. Fantastic reunion property in Paso Robles Wine Country *****5/5 - stars
Stayed July 2019
This property was EXACTLY as described and shown in the photos. Spacious, clean and well-stocked for a family reunion weekend for our family that traveled from the Bay Area and Southern California. We never left the property over the whole weekend, and everyone enjoyed the pool, outdoor areas, game room and living spaces. The AC kept the home very cool - and the kitchen was a perfect place for numerous people to work on the prep for our large family meals. Overall, a great property and experience. A+
Great celebration! *****5/5 - stars

Our family celebrated my husband's 70th birthday at the farmhouse. It is a beautiful home, quite new and wonderfully furnished. Situated half-way between our families who live in the Bay area and LA, it was a perfect location for us to meet for the weekend. The pictures on VRBO are very accurate. It is a beautiful piece of property in a quiet location - very private. Everything we needed to cook for our family was found in the well stocked kitchen and pantry. The appliances are high end and in great working order. The pool was a hit with our granddaughters and we felt very safe and secure due to the electric pool cover and the child safety alarms on the doors to the backyard. The toys and fenced play yard on the side of the house were perfect for the youngest. And we all enjoyed the game room with pool table, air hockey and basketball. We can't wait for our next visit - a perfect place to relax, play and spend time together.
The perfect house to stay in *****5/5 - stars
Stayed May 2019
We absolutely loved our stay at this property. We had 12 adults staying at this property for a friends gathering. The house and property are both equally beautiful. The house is so spacious that no one ever felt like we were getting in each other's way. It was nice to wake up with the beautiful view, open the house up and drink coffee or tea outside by the pool in our robes that they owners provide. The neighborhood is so beautiful, you can bring your bikes, hike, walk to a winery or swim in the pool. It is also very close to the downtown area. We hosted a catered dinner one night with a few of our friends that were staying at another property close by. It was the perfect place to gather with friends and enjoy an evening together. We actually never went to the other property because our house was so accommodating to a larger group. We spent every evening in the game room laughing and having a great time. It was perfect! We loved it so much we want to make this an annual trip. I want to say a special thank you to Kathleen at the property management company for helping me make arrangements in Paso Robles and for making sure everything was top notch during our little getaway.
Amazing Gathering Place!

We had a small family reunion at this property with 10 adults, 3 kids and a baby. The house and property are beautiful and there is something there for everyone. The kids loved the playground area and spending the days swimming. The adults loved the game room to play pool in once the kids went down. What an amazing place to reconnect with family and friends. The house was stocked with everything you could possibly need and then some. We loved cooking together and being able to enjoy the view while eating our meals outside. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your property, we look forward to staying with you again in the future.

Our group had a wonderful stay at Frontier Farmhouse. We were in Paso for a wedding and had 10 to 12 people in the house depending on the night. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space while still having spacious common areas for everyone to be together. We particularly enjoyed the cabana and pool area. We had reason to contact the owner and the management company with minor questions and they were both prompt and courteous with their responses. The kitchen had everything that we could have wanted in terms of appliances, glassware, utensils, etc. The property is landscaped beautifully and the location is great since there are several wineries within a very short distance. Our entire group highly recommends this property!

We Will Return! *****5/5 - stars
Stayed July 2018
Our family of 14 has been enjoying VRBO summer vacations for over a decade. This is the first time the kids would like to come back to a property. Here's why.
1. Driving up the drive way, we were impressed with the landscaping. Landscaping in the back includes colorful trees and a beautiful Weeping Willow. And speaking of the back, looking south over the pool is an unobstructed view of hills and even hawks flying overhead.
2. One can tell that the owner Terese is a teacher. Everything is well organized including a very detailed Guest Manual and even labels on all wall switches. She sent us a few emails prior to our visit which introduced herself and husband Paul and also gave very timely advice.
3. Everyone enjoyed the garage game room, the pool, and the large grassy area by the pool. In the field below the pool the kids even discovered a tree swing which is no more than a disk with a rope in the middle. They had never experienced that before.
4. There are many group meeting areas both inside and out. And a large dining table inside is repeated with a large table outside.
5. The home is located close to Hearst Castle, Cambria, Morro Bay, and San Louis Obispo. And of course there are the wineries. We even found a winery with an 18 hole frisbee golf course.
6. One last thing. Terese emailed us that there were problems with the refrigerator. They brought over a refrigerator from the barn which was no small matter and set it up in the garage. We didn't need the spare because the one in the home was working fine but it shows the concern Terese and Paul have for the folks who rent their home.
If it sounds like this is a great place for a family to gather you are right. We have many memories to recall. We will return.

The Frontier Farmhouse is a beautiful and amazing place. We had a celebration for 2 college grads (Cal Poly and UCSB) and 2 high school grads with our extended family! It has a wonderful pool area, awesome game room and plenty of space to enjoy with a large group! Very clean and comfortable and easy to get to from freeway! It was about a 20-25 minute drive north of Cal Poly and San Luis Obispo. Would love to stay there again!

This house/ranch was a great find. Everyone in our group was over the top happy with this place. It was very clean, the pool was warm, the sitting area on the back porch or the pool bungalow was amazing. House was nice and big, the games in the garage area were a hit for everyone. Highly recommend this place. That and it's right in the middle of wine country south of San Francisco.

Luxurious Living *****5/5 - stars

This home was gorgeous and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We came for a birthday celebration-mostly with friends in our 20s/30s but also a toddler and a baby. The home provided more than enough entertainment to never leave...although the location is quite close to plenty of wineries and other sources of fun. The game room was SO much fun. Pool table, air hockey, pop shot, ping pong, foosball-we were kept fully entertained for hours. The backyard is very lovely and the pictures hardly do it justice. Although the weather was fairly cool, the pool was the perfect temperature. The home itself is beautifully decorated and clearly had a lot of love put into it. From the bedding, to the towels, to the toilet paper even-the home feels like a luxurious getaway. I did have some communication with the owner and she was quite lovely and very helpful. The information binder is also well done and very helpful-including a list of all the house items and where to put them. Although this house was perfect for our group of adults, it was the perfect house to have kids in too. There was a pack n play and high chair available as well as a lot of toys-including an awesome fenced in play area. The owner was also very informative about the safety features in place for children. The only slight downside to this home was it did seem like there were a lot of checking out tasks which were a little hard to complete before the 10am check out time. Overall, I highly recommend this home!

The Frontier Farmhouse was everything we could have asked for and more. It is located in a lovely and quiet neighborhood near several great wineries. It has a beautiful view from almost every room. The house is beautifully decorated, appointed with top of the line appliances, luxurious linens and stocked with all the essentials. We enjoyed the barbecue, the fabulous backyard as well as the game room. We only wish we had more time to spend at the house. Our party consisted of 11 adults, but the house is super kid friendly too. We plan to return and have already recommended the property to friends.

We came to the area to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday. Had a group of 11 adults. The house was absolutely awesome! It was beautifully decorated, well stocked , and very, very comfortable for our group. Everything was immaculate inside and outside. Not the best weather for us, but the pool would be great in warmer months. The backyard and pool looks out over lovely green rolling hills. No jacuzzi, unfortunately! Has a great outdoor bbq/kitchen area. The owner was very attentive regarding a couple questions and issues that came up. Great wine tasting nearby (and farther out).
